financial challenges. It was at this time that the Fondation Jean Lapointe was created to help fund and promote the nonprofit organization, whose mission is to improve quality of life of individuals through treatment, prevention, support, and the sharing of knowledge on substances and addictions.<\/p>\n<p>Over the years, the importance of investing in prevention has become evident, in order to prevent addiction-related problems from affecting future generations. In 2008, the Foundation made a significant shift by focusing its efforts, as well as a substantial portion of the funds raised, on preventing alcohol, cannabis, and other substance-related problems among youth in high schools.<\/p>\n<p>For over 43 years, the Jean Lapointe Foundation has existed, bringing to life the Jean Lapointe Telethon, the Jean Lapointe Centers for teenagers, the 28 Days Sober Challenge <sup>MC<\/sup>, and countless projects and activities across
